You sang a song . . .

Today you sang me a song. You used the chrous of one of your favorite Raffi tunes (I think it was "Who Built the Ark? (Noah, Noah)", but you sang the chorus entirely of "Moms". Love that you are such a fan sweetheart! I am sure one day you want even want to hear my name mentioned.  Good little lesson from this morning out of this one for me, though. I was bee-bopping a long to your Moms, not really paying much attention, then I realized you were, in your own sweet way trying to get my attention, to talk to me, to engage me. So, we did. We talked all the way on our trip.  Good reminder that sometimes people can tell you exactly what they want/need without saying exactly what they want/need. I need to listen more for the subtle hints.

Here is a picture of you sleeping in your big girl bed FOR THE FIRST TIME! You did so well! Not a peep, not a cry. Of course, because that's your way. Miss Shan Shan called you "adaptable" I couldn't agree more. I hope that carries through as a quality for the rest of your life.

Here you are painting your doll house. You were so proud, and also very patient with the paint. you did a great job.

Precious Memories

I came across these photos and videos by accident, and during a very trying time in my life (Yes, Lin, everyone goes through tough times, even your old mom . . . so take it easy on me baby when you are a teenager. kthanks). It is just amazing to see how much you have grown sweetheart. You are 2 years and 8 months now and your mom and dad love you so very much. You are the most precious child. You are a wonderful baby. Literally YOU are the biggest lesson for me, every day. So kind, so sweet, so smart. Truly Linden, my heart aches I love you so much. So, while these old photos and videos make me sad (between 1.5 and 2 yo) I can't be too sad because you get more wonderful every day. I guess that's my Lindy lesson, just when you think it can't get any better . . . it does.
