Enjoying life

James and I had such a relaxing weekend. It was nice to calm down and take it easy, I know these days are numbered! The Tide almost caused me to go into early labor, as they came from behind in thrilling fashion to down the #10 Arkanasas Razorbacks 24-10! Next doctor's appointment is tommorrow, and I am looking forward to seeing if there has been any progress. Baby girl is being sweet as usual, but I have to admit that I am getting a wee wee bit uncomfy. Add that to my desire to hold my daughter in my arms and I am hoping for good news! She can come any time - I am FULL TERM and fully ready!!

The Countdown

Today we had our 36 week appointment. Officially 4 weeks until Baby W makes her sweeet debut. I am a little discouraged because not much seems to be going on "down there" but our doctor was quick to ensure James and I that everything looked wonderful.

My BP was good, baby girl measuring right on time, and maybe a "little thinning" of my cervix. But, no dialtion at this point. Hrmph. Doctor did let us know of the policy that will have my little girl in my arms no later than 41 weeks. So, if she does not want to arrive I will likely be induced Oct 20/21. Yippee! :)

So exciting and thrilling to know how close we are to meeting her. We also got a tour of the hospital birthing suites today and they are.... SWEET (pun intended). Really very nice. I am not excited to overnight there, but excited because I know being there means my daughter is right around the corner.

Anyway, about all for today... did want to give a quick mention that our Alabama Crimson Tide are sitting a pretty 2-0 after downing #18 Penn State is a classic rivalry game. Victory is sweet!!!

A Leap Forward- 35/35

Well here we are from 17 weeks in my last post to the infamous 35/35! That is, 35 weeks pregnant and 35 days to go until we meet our sweet precious baby GIRL. I cannot begin to describe how excited James and I are to meet our daughter. A little about her:

She is a wiggly bear! She moves ALL.THE.TIME. Her favorite position is to press her little tush up on the upper right side of my tummy and at the same time give me a sharp poke with a little footsie on my left. It is getting a little painful, but such a miracle every time in happens. Otherwise, she is easy. I have felt so well this pregnancy - something I am thankful for every day.

James and I walk about 2.5 miles every day so I think I am keeping in shape. However, the weight is rapidly coming on. I am about 30 pounds up now (115 - 140) and hope to only gain about 5 more. Not much swelling thankfully! My only complaint, sleeping!! There is a blood vessel somewhere near my ribs is getting pressed so I wake up in pain about every 45 minutes. Oh well, anything for my little one.

Thankfully, the sleepless nights are managable. I am back in school and happy days are here again!!! I have the EASIEST schedule and I can spend all my time preparing for baby. I know that will all change when she arrives in 5 short weeks!!

Also should mention a few other fab things going on... 1. James got an AMAZING raise and to top it off a GREAT bonus --- such validation for the hard, hard work he has been putting in at the ol' 9 to 5. And I ACCEPTED a job at one of the premire law firms in the city!!!! Very excited and unbelievably blessed to have the opportunity. Sometimes I have to blink to remind myself its all real. True, I won't start until exactly one year from today but having that security for my family is WONDERFUL!

Thanks to James' bonus we splurged and finally landed season tickets for our CRIMSON TIDE!!! We have drool-worthy seats in the first row of the upper deck on the 50-yard line. Pictures to come. We can't want for another amazing season from our boys :)

Finally, I will leave you with a few pictures of my baby shower, thrown by my sweet, sweet friends:

Beauty of the day: Getting back to blogging! :)
Baby News: Felt first "contractions" last night. I assume they were Braxton Hicks. I had about 8 within an hour, but only 20 seconds or so long so nurse said not "real" labor - just my body getting ready!
Exercise: 1.2 miles walking so far, another 2 miles when James gets home
Weight: 141
